A Certificate of State Registration (SGR) confirms a product’s safety and authorizes its circulation within the EAEU and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

⏳ How long is the SGR valid?
The validity period of the SGR is established depending on the type of product and the features of its use.
According to the sanitary requirements of the EAEU:
For most goods, an SGR is issued without a fixed expiry date, provided that the following remain unchanged:
product composition;
manufacturing process;
country of manufacture;
packaging and intended use.
For certain product categories, the document has a limited validity period of up to five years, after which renewal is required.
This most commonly applies to:
cosmetics;
perfumes;
household chemicals;
dietary supplements;
certain types of specialized products.
📘 An SGR also remains valid until the product’s expiry date or until manufacturing or import of the product ceases.
⚖️ When is it necessary to extend the SGR?
An extension is required if:
The previously issued document has expired, for example after five years;
Manufacturing or import is to continue after the SGR expires;
The product’s composition, manufacturing process or packaging has changed; in this case, the certificate must be reissued, rather than renewed;
Production has moved to another country or facility;
Legislation or sanitary standards have changed and compliance with the new requirements must be confirmed.
📋 The procedure for extending the SGR
Renewal of the certificate takes place in several stages, similar to the initial registration.
1. Submitting an application
The applicant submits a renewal application to the competent authority or a company managing the process, such as ALMA TEST.
2. Provision of documents
You need to prepare:
a copy of the current SGR;
product description (confirmation that the composition has not changed);
manufacturer details;
product samples (if necessary);
results of previously conducted tests (if relevant).
3. Laboratory tests
If the document has expired while manufacturing continues, repeat testing may be required to confirm that the product still meets sanitary standards.
4. Verification and issuance of an updated SGR
After the documents have been checked and a further expert assessment completed where necessary, a new Certificate of State Registration is issued. It takes effect on the date of the decision and is entered in the EAEU register.
